TomTom is a smartphone application developed by the manufacturer of the TomTom GPS devices. The application taps into the iPhone's GPS capabilities, and displays maps and offers turn-by-turn directions to users. The application can be purchased from Apple's iOS app store directly from the iPhone, but some users may want to download the app from another app store via Installous. Installous is an application search program for jailbroken iOS devices that offers a variety of download options from Apple's official app store and other non-official stores.

Instructions

Tap the 'Installous' icon on your iPhone.

Touch the TomTom application for the country for which you want to purchase and download the maps and directions.

Tap the store from which you want to download the TomTom app. You will have a variety of options, including the official Apple app store.

Type your login information for the store you chose if prompted to do so.

Tap the 'Downloads' icon at the bottom of the screen.

8.

Touch the 'TomTom' entry when the app has finished downloading and choose 'Install.'

Warnings

• Be careful when choosing which app store from which to download the application. Installous is an aggregate of various app stores and can continue counterfeit, cracked or non-working applications. Only download the application from an app store or repository you know is legitimate.
• Also note that using Installous requires your iPhone to be jailbroken, or 'cracked,' to allow features and applications not necessarily sanctioned by Apple. Although it is legal for you to jailbreak your device, it will void your warranty with Apple.
